One property of a desert environment is its relatively minor effect on metallic things over
time. In other words, it's hard to rust when there's no water. So, at least since WWII,
the government has been parking obsolete aircraft in places like the Tucson area. Aircraft
enthusiasts have had the world to choose from, and Pima Air & Space Museum makes
the most of it.
