The arrangement with the Dunsany estate went through—“Call first, so you don’t set off any alarms on the grounds,” so I was as ready as I’d ever be.

What with all the other equipment and all, I knew taking along my laptop computer wouldn’t be any great hassle, and I knew I would want to keep a journal.

And that’s what you’ll be seeing here, along with selected pictures.
I’m preparing this web display some four years after my trip, and I won’t pretend that it is as fresh in my mind as it was the week after I got back. But many of my impressions went deep, and having the photographs and the journal made it seem as if the trip had been last month.
